What InboxEd Does
InboxEd is a Chrome extension that helps parents organize school-related emails by automatically:
- Identifying which child each email relates to
- Summarizing email content
- Extracting action items and deadlines
- Organizing emails by child, subject, and activity
Information We Access
Email Content: InboxEd accesses email content from senders you designate as school-related in your Gmail account. This access is necessary to:
- Read email content for AI processing
- Identify which child the email relates to
- Generate summaries and extract action items
- Organize emails with labels
Processing Location: All email processing happens locally in your browser using the OpenAI API. Your email content is:
- Sent securely to OpenAI’s servers for AI processing
- NOT stored on our servers
- NOT shared with third parties (except OpenAI for processing)
- Processed only for the purposes described above
Information We Do NOT Collect or Store
We do NOT:
- Store your email content on our servers
- Access emails from senders you haven’t designated as school-related
- Share your data with third parties for marketing purposes
- Sell your information to anyone
- Track your browsing activity outside of Gmail
Third-Party Services
OpenAI API: InboxEd uses OpenAI’s API to process email content and generate summaries. When you use InboxEd:
- Email content is sent to OpenAI’s servers for AI processing
- OpenAI’s use of this data is governed by their privacy policy

Google Gmail API: InboxEd uses Google’s Gmail API to:
- Read emails from designated senders
- Apply labels and organization to your inbox

Data Security

- All data transmission uses secure HTTPS connections
- No email content is stored on our servers
- Access to your Gmail requires your explicit permission via Google’s OAuth system
- You can revoke InboxEd’s access to your Gmail at any time through your Google Account settings

You can:
- Revoke InboxEd’s access to your Gmail at any time through Google Account settings
- Choose which email senders InboxEd processes
- Uninstall the extension at any time

We will never:

- Share your email content with third parties (except OpenAI for processing)
- Use your data for purposes other than providing InboxEd’s functionality
Children’s Privacy
